Comerica Bank Sportsmanship Luncheon

Sam Houston State head football coach Willie Fritz, fresh off of playing in the FCS national championship game, adresses the approximately 400 at the luncheon about the importace of doing things the right way. At right, five area female athletic directors attended the event. They are Pam Lea of New Caney ISD, Paige Hershey of Spring Branch ISD, Debbie Decker, interim AD at Katy ISD, Marmion Dambrino of HISD, and Sandra Anderson of Klein ISD.
LSU Day with Les Miles,
presented by Key Energy Services

LSU's Les Miles, on left, talked to the crowd about the 2011 football season, which set school records by going 13-0 in the regular season, with eight wins over Top 25 teams (including Oregon, Arkansas and Alabama when they were No. 2 in the nation), with 12 wins by double-figures, and with 11-straight weeks as the No. 1 team in the nation. In Miles' seven seasons at LSU, 139 players have graduated, 104 have been All-Academic SEC and countless service hours have been performed. At right, Les signed a football for Gunnar Patterson, 7, who already has made it through three surgeries in his short lifetime. WIth Gunnar is his dad, Charles. The football was presented by Bill Herrington with Capital One Bank, one of the sponsors of the annual Tiger Athletic Foundation's Tiger Tour.
