Bridgeway Capital Management Football Scholar-Athlete Luncheon
Dr. Charles Breithaupt, left, discussed timeless values with the 25 high school scholar-athlete finalists at the annual luncheon. Breithaupt came to the luncheon and spoke to area high school athletic directors the next day.
The top winner of the annual football scholar-athlete award was Brett Provenzano of Strake Jesuit, right, shown with his mom, Peggy, and dad, Charles. The 25 finalists had to be starters on their respective football teams with the highest GPAs.
Mike Sherman, left, tells the annual Texas-Texas A&M Luncheon that better days are ahead with the Aggie football program. Sherman joked that his wife told him a positive thing coming out this down season is that he "is losing weight." Speakers for the luncheon are in the photo on the right. Doherty Long Wagner LLP Rice-UH Bayou Bucket Luncheon
UH coach Kevin Sumlin, left, and Rice coach David Bailiff eye the prize that is the Bayou Bucket. The TD Club created the Bayou Bucket in 1974 to award to the winning team of the annual contest on the field immediately after the contest. Both schools entered the contest with the West Conference title on the line in Conference USA.
